Constantly striving to answer the question: “how can things be done better?”
The past month I find myself coming up with new solutions to old questions that I have been asking. However, just as I begin to step out and declare my new war path, I find out that the solution is already being implemented by others. Not on one or two challenges but at least three (in the last month that is).
I can’t afford to waste time chasing down the path of others.
Perhaps I can do it better. Perhaps I can offer better exposure, or present the package in a better light, but it is a risk. Commit time and energy to a solution others have also identified.
Would I really be solving the problem, or would I just be entering a new market, with limited knowledge and experience (in a new field), as a new competitor.
In my ideal world, I want to be solving problems others have not identified.
The key I guess boils down to passion. Passion about the problem and the need to fix it. Passion will help me push through the fun initial start, and should give me momentum to follow through and implement (timorously).

People are out there, chasing down the solutions I had in my mind. I am not the only one with ideas. I am not the only one with intent to improve the lives of others.
No need to push myself if others are out there solving needs. Is there?
Time to put Mr President on the back burner.
