I can’t shake off this infographic:

As a living, I sell the idea of working in the UK’s economy as an opportunity to exposure in the top economies in the world.
This infographic shed a different light.
Interesting statements such as the worlds top 4 economies are USA, China, Japan and Germany.
UK not in the top 4.
Next interesting statement:
The top 4 economies together produce 50% of the worlds GDP.
4 countries. 50% of worlds production output.
Why Japan and Germany? Why not the UK?
If China is in, is population a factor? No, if population was a factor, India and Indonesia would be in the count.
Car manufacturers though. That’s what Japan and Germany have that the others don’t. That’s why they are tops.
Now, if I was SA president, I would look to create a new car brand. Exporter of raw materials should no longer be our thing. Exporter of quality end products should be our thing.
Cheap is not best. No point entering the market as cheap (and competing with China).
We need to develop quality branding. Better than the Swiss and British.
Quality needs to be out thing. Rough and tough.
That’s the Africa I see thriving.
