Domain ownership. Perspective change.

I recently came across content that helped clarify what/ how domain ownership actually works.

I feel sheepish after my previous vent vent where I complained about redistribution of previously owned sites.

Domains are never owned. Only leased.

This means I am only leasing my portfolio of sites. I don’t own them.

This is a great way to tackle “cyber squatting”. Continually pay rent to access the domain name.

Previously held domains were only rented. Stop renting and you are no longer tenant thereof.

Life makes sense again.
