I have this thing that I do. Thought everyone does it but the more I tell people about it, the more I realise it is not as commonly practised as I thought.

Before the world cup began, I ran through the line ups and I predicted who will win or lose.

Further to this, I predicted if bonus points would be scored or not.

From there, I predicted the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals.

Those predictions were written down. I think that is important to note this (or to make notes).

Having written predictions helps to compare results (and helps with reference).

Thus far Japan has played in unpredictable form.

For their group (pool A), I predicted Ireland would lead and Scotland would take 2nd place.

The reality though is that Japan has taken the lead and Ireland second place.

In my predictions though, I did expect SA to lose its first game with NZ.

It has allowed us to play Japan in quarters (instead of my predicted Ireland). It is a much easier road to the finals.

NZ will face Ireland (and will hopefully disrupt their path to the finals.

Wales are favourites against France.

England are favourites against Australia.

After this weekend, we will hopefully face Wales (who are going to be tough to beat).

NZ could face England, which could also be disrupted.

Hopefully SA will make it to the finals and hopefully NZ will not make it through.

If NZ and SA make it to the finals, my end predictions will come true (although the Japan unpredictability was not factored in).
