Man I love technology that adds value.
2 or 3 years ago, I bought a second hand 4×4. Double cab bakkie. Bandit.
It has had starter issues. Which took me several attempts to rectify.
Turns out that the generic starter motors that battery stores offer are not strong enough for the V6 engine.
Eventually I resorted to a well run auto electrician that clearly put in a stronger starter motor inplace. Haven’t had a problem since.
Bandit has an mp3 player without USB or axillary ports. Instead it has provision for a CD player that accepts mp3 formated discs.
Mp3 discs offer 700mb of space. Average mp3 takes up 5mb of space. 140 songs on one disc.
2019 was the year that we upgraded our technology’s infrastructure.
Bought my wife a new car. Transferred from ADSL to fibre internet access and swopped out our 2013 plasma tv to a new smart tv.
Life has dramatically changed.
My wifes car connects to mobile devices through bluetooth. Automatically.
My mobile has allowed for me to input practical conditional logical. For example, my mobile has been set to switch on wifi and switch off mobile data when I get home or to work. Gaining fibre internet access without me manually changing settings.
My wifes car doesnt have a CD player. No more discs. No more mp3s needed.
USB and auxiliary inputs are available though.
Music is played through our spotify account(s).
My wifes car has a started button. No key inputs needed.
The physical car key however allows us to unlock or lock the car either through remote access (older tech that the 4×4 offers) or through nearby access.
This nearby access is game changing.
As long as the key is one a person, they can open or lock the car. No need to press a button on the remote. No need to put key in a key hole.
Our smart TV is linked to our spotify accounts.
I literally have walked through the house, with song A playing in the background. Swirched off TV before stepping out the house.
Stepped into wifes car and song A continues to play (where we left off).
I am just loving the streaming access to films, series and music. Youtube and internet browsing made easily available.
My mobile device connects easily to the smart tv screen. Sharing content from mobile is more relatable now. Discussions are more engaging.
I am really enjoying this new chapter.
2020 here we come.
